Here’s how it works
Find full-time or part-time team projects with the most
innovative companies locally or internationally
3 steps to create a team and find work
Step 1 - Create a team
The team leader sets up a team and completes the team's profile. Colleagues or existing prolancers are invited to join the team. If required, when colleagues join Prolancer they are able to indicate they are part of a team and not open for other Prolancer projects.
Step 2 - Submit proposals
When suitable projects are published, team leaders will be notified so a proposal can be submitted. Proposals will be reviewed by our relationship managers and a shortlist will be sent to the hirer.
Step 3 - Start work
If your team's proposal is selected you can start work immediately. Prolancer's unique, collaborative workstream allows you to easily communicate, share and track your projects. Depending on your agreement with the hirer, you can raise invoices for each completed milestone or wait until you complete the entire project.
Payments and contracts are protected on Prolancer. We use a secure escrow system for payments. Visit our help centre for more information regarding payment protection.
Project management tools
You will receive access to Prolancer's built-in project & budget management tools to streamline productivity, accelerate teamwork and manage overall budget, time and resources.
We strongly encourage all projects carried out on Prolancer to use our unique set of collaboration / project management tools. This ensures both hirer and prolancer understand responsibilities and timescales, activities are logged and projects are kept within scope.
Find your next project or create a team to
offer a multi-disciplined approach
Search the current projects and submit a proposal on behalf of your team. If the proposal meets our requirements you will be contacted by the Relationship Manager.
Some projects need a multi-disciplinary approach. Create a team of other prolancers to tackle larger projects and submit a proposal.

Service fee charges will be deducted from the total amount that is transferred from a Project’s escrow account into a prolancer’s account. The service fee is charged at the following percentage scales of transaction value.
|Transaction value||Service Fee|
|£0 to £600||9.99%|
|£600.01 and up||9.99% for the first £600 + 6% for the remainder|
The above fees are exclusive of VAT and withdrawal fee.
Prolancer’s payment processing fee is applicable upon withdrawal of the funds.
|Payment method||Sent to||Fee||Duration|
United Kingdom GBP (Local faster payment transfer)
Europe EUR (Local SEPA transfer)
35+ other major countries (Local bank transfer)
All other countries (Swift bank wire)
|PayPal withdrawals||PayPal accounts||PayPal fees @ 2%||Instant|
We recommend that you withdraw your total money in one payment to avoid multiple withdrawal fees.
Please note, Prolancer does not add any mark up to the payment processing fees. All fees mentioned are the chargeable fees from Banks and 3rd party payment service providers such as PayPal.
As part of creating a project team, the team lead will agree the % of the project fee different members of the team will receive. Prolancer allocates payments to team members accordingly. In the case of a team containing employees, the % of the payment will be made to the business and team members will be made using PAYE as usual.
Prolancer supports payments made to and from more than 220 destinations and more than 135 global currencies. To find out more about the list of countries supported by Prolancer, please click here.
